I'd buy your argument if it weren't for HUGE difference in impact force between the two (avg NFL 1600lbs of force vs 400lbs in rugby). You can't hit as hard without those pads (same thing happens with bare knuckle fighting, impact drops precipitously).

You can't hit as hard without pads

As someone who as played both, you really can't directly compared them. They look similar enough to people from the outside but they really are not.

Rugby is more of a slow brute force with occasional flashes of speed.

American football is all speed with the occasional brute force.

I like Rugby, I really do. I actually got to go to a game when I was in Australia. The thing is that most of the game is lateraling to the ends and charging into a group of defenders. Snap it back, lateral, charge, repeat. It does get exciting when they kick it forward, though. But overall I don't think it has as much strategy as football. Also, I've never understood the pads argument; because you yourself are protected, you're able to lay the wood a lot harder than otherwise. Just like boxing punches are way more dangerous than MMA punches.

Australian Rules Football, though...What a game. It's the only one I've enjoyed as much as (and maybe even a little more at times) than football.

Tell that to the girl at school who got a black eye from an elbow in the face while playing rugby. You have a whole helmet in football to protect your head/face from the impact. You don't in rugby.

Either way, sports are still the same in my opinion. A bunch of people getting paid way too much money to play a game.

Oh god...aussie (lack of) rules. I went to a few of those games when I was living there. Insanity is what that was.

I'm EC, I haven't been converted, 50% does not equal 100%.

I would like to request a stay of execution if there is another way to be investigated, but to be honest, at this point in the game, I'd probably lynch me too if that's all we have to go on

To be fair....STL was also 50% and a wolf. So that is what I am going off of.
 
(but if someone wants to wait and ask me a question with that truth item thing tonight, I would be able to tell you I am neither an original wolf nor a convert)

The A&E tends to be hoppin' right after that game...and then they all seem to hobble to the pub, concussed and broken.

ask me if I know the identity of any wolves that are still alive. Or ask if I have lied about anything on the thread for this game. Or ask if I knew STL was a wolf before we got the write-up.

I'm not saying you have to use the Liar's Dice on me, I'm not going to throw a temper tantrum if it doesn't happen, I was just suggesting a possible, plausible way to establish that I am not a wolf, other than saying "guys, trust me, I'm not a wolf."
