Just wanted to see if anyone in this forum will be joining me at SDSU this Fall...

Looks like you're the only one in the program so far 😳. Just a matter of days before they tap the wait-list, I'm hoping!
I went and spoke with Dr. Rauh and Kelly, the CI Director at SDSU last Monday. Things sound good and they are working hard to get the program up and running WITH accreditation ASAP. I'm calling back in a few days to see how many spots open up from the first round of acceptances. Wish me luck, say a prayer, knock on wood, and of course cross all your digits for me.

I guess so. Many views for this thread though. I was really impressed with Dr. Rauh's vision of the program and the possibilities as a student. Though I passed up several accredited DPT programs, I have no doubt in my mind that SDSU is a perfect match for me.

I hope you do get accepted. You already took the extra step in meeting with the staff, which I think will help you stand out.

For you and for all of those tbat applied to SDSU...Good luck, Heavenly Father, Knock on Wood, and Fingers Crossed 🙂

I think today was the deadline for those accepted to get back to SDSU. Has anyone else committed to SDSU?

SDSU DPT class is full as of today, who has committed besides bhatiaa1? If so, is SDSU your first choice?

This is the email I received,

"This email is to give you an update on our wait-list status. After our initial acceptance letters, most student who received an acceptance letter chose to accept their seat. We have started the process of offering seats to the few students who did not to keep their seat. Presently, our class has been fully committed. However, as individuals who initially chose to secure their seat decides to relinquish it, we will continue to revisit our wait-list immediately. For your information, a seat can open up until the first day of Fall semester 2012".

I received the same e-mail.

bhatiaa1, any plans made for where you are going to live? I'm moving back to SD in 6 weeks. Not sure if I will live by SDSU or up north by USA.

It has been a tough decision, but I too have committed to SDSU's DPT program. I can't wait to move to San Diego!

CristianoParese, I read that you got accepted to USA San Marcos. Does that mean you are not accepting their offer?

Hey Prsvranc10acity, I was offered to start May 3rd at USA, but that is less than 2 weeks away. I currently live in Baltimore, MD, i am registered in 8 units of classes here, I am getting married in July (in SD), and I would have to quit my job without sufficient notice, SO...I declined. Too much on my plate to start in May.
Now, I am on SDSU and USA waitlists for Fall 2012. A little anxious...

Congrats on your commitment to SDSU. Welcome to the Darkside, as Aztecs say.

Again, if anyone need suggestions on where to live, or anything having to do with San Diego, let me know. Lived there 25 years and I am coming back in 6 weeks. Can't wait is an understatement.

I will be moving with my wife by the end of June. Looking for a detached house around North Park, Kensington, Normal Heights, University Heights, or Hillcrest (close access to highway 8 & 5).

I am flying to SD for 3 nights (May 31, June 1-2)... hopefully I can secure a place when I'm there.

Sweet man, I would recommend North Park, South Park, Kensington, or Hillcrest.

Hi CristianoParese - just want to get your input regarding the San Marcos and Vista communities since you had lived in SD for 25 yrs. I will be attending USA in the fall and want to get your opinion on how safe these 2 cities are to live in? I know all cities have good parts and bad parts, but I've been looking for apartments online and have been disappointed with all the reviews of the places in these areas. Any ideas as to which parts of the city of San Marcos or Vista would be good areas? I'm from LA so I plan to take a trip down to visit some apartments in the next few weeks.

Hey TIZ,
Congrats on your acceptance to USA. I may be joining you there. DPT? San Marcos and Vista are in the northern part of the country where I have never lived. I am familiar with the San Diego south of the Escondido area. San Marcos and Vista are definitely diverse in the quality of living standards. I would definitely visit the area before you commit to a lease. A lot of San Marcos and Vista is suburban. It may be a good idea to get together with some other students to go in on a track, suburban house if u want a very safe area. I assume most of the apartment complexes may be getting a bad rap. Either way, I'm living in Baltimore (very high crime rate) right now and I look forward to living in anywhere in SD area, where there is definitely a higher perception of safety. Coming from LA, you may feel the same way?

Hey everyone, congrats on acceptances! Just curious what your stats were? I am applying this upcoming cycle. Also, does SDSU not go through PTCAS? Thanks!

Thanks for the info CristianoParese! Yes I'll be DPT at USA, maybe we'll be classmates. Congrats on your acceptences!

Your GPA and GRE scores look competitive. What about your volunteer/shadowing hours, extra-circular activities? Is your personal statement good? LORs?

SDSU was suppose to be on PTCAS this 2011-12 cycle... but maybe it will be the next cycle.
