Ok.

A lot of times, we get people searching for information that we just discussed 2 weeks ago. I would like to ask more experienced posters who are whiz kids at searching for older posts and such to post to this thread and explain to newer members how to do a search.

This saves eveyone time and effort. If you think of a question about applying, for example, one could search for information instead of posting their question, waiting a day for a response, and then asking a follow up question etc.

PLEASE do NOT post on this thread unless you are explaining to others how to find information that probably is all ready on a different thread, or that you think might be out there.

DISCLAIMER: I am not trying to discourage ANYONE from asking questions. That is what SDN is for. However, It is just much more efficient a lot of the time to do a search for information instead of starting a new thread that has all ready been discussed.

Thanks.

I am not a great searcher, thus I wanted to start this thread

The one way I search, is w/ the Members List.

If you know one of the sages' of our forum have posted some wisdom previously, you can find their name on the member list, and see each and every thread they have posted to. In fact, you can look for every post, or every thread they have started.

Simply click on Members List on the blue tool bar (the tool bar lists: User CP, FAQ, the Members List).

Alphabetically find the poster whos' info you are looking for.

Nothing like having a conversation with your self!

ANywho...

if you are not good at clicking several links to do a search just click on the search SDN , enter your terms to search, I think you can even tell it to search only the pod forums. Then scroll thru the hits. You can then change the terms of the search to include a more specific or lengthy time frame if necessary.
