so, Im plannin me one of them second looks. scrubs? necktie? worn out ramones T-shirt?

For any of you who second looked someplace last year, did you end up going to a place you revisited? I realize that nominally it doesnt help you out any, but if you show up and are your personable self it cant hurt (or if you show up and act like a moeron I guess it pretty much fixes your wagon)

I would assume for insurance etc. reasons Im just following/observing and not seeing people, yes?

If you're visiting the ED, I would dress for the ED, usually scrubs. Some programs aremore anal about their dress code for residents (e.g. Orlando used to be). If part of your revisit involves meeting in the offices or talking with any attendings, PD, I would wear at least a shirt and tie.

You'll just be shadowing.

On a similar note, I was wondering if anyone knows if any programs require their residents to wear a shirt and tie while doing shifts in the er.

i'm not sure I could handle that.

At U of I- Chicago we where shirt and tie at one of our sites, Mercy. The other two sites UIH and Illinois Masonic are scrubs. Anyone taking a second look at UIC? if you are feel free to PM me if you have questions

Grady does, or at least used to. Me, I haven't worn a suit since my first job interview. Since then I've gone to interviews in slacks and a polo-type shirt. I have yet to not get a job offer after an interview. The last three interviews I was offered a full-time position during the interview. We EM guys generally don't stand on ceremony, it seems.
