How important are second looks? Do they make any difference in how a residency program ranks you?

Was curious about this too. Also do you need to be invited by the program for a 2nd look or do you just call up the program and ask to stop by?

As for the question, most of the posts on this topic on Auntminnie say its worth it to do the second look.

It is easy to look desperate by doing a second look. On the other hand, if you have an honest question or concern about a program, then it may be worth your while, especially if you are sincerely narrowing down your top choices....if you are just doing it to be "seen again," don't bother....it can annoy the wrong people.
