I am currently in my 4th year externship and I am barely starting to see the reality of what audiology entails. I do not like the lack of respect that audiologist receive in the field and low salaries that do not reflect the level of knowledge that we have. This has led me down a rabbit whole and I am thinking about changing careers.

I love my externship and I am learning a lot, I really do like the field, but there is just something holding me back. I have seen many careers that I did not know about, like medical dosimetry, nuclear medicine, etc., I have also looked for additional certifications, trainings, or fellowship opportunities for audiologist that could make me more marketable and potentially lead to an increase in salary.

I wanted to ask if anyone else has felt like during their externship year or career, and how they overcame these insecurities.

Are there any certifications/post-doc fellowship that audiologist recommend in obtaining? (apart from obtaining CCC's and ABA certification)

Does anyone know what else can be done with a Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders apart from audiology and SLP?

Has anyone made a transition to a completely different field after obtaining their AuD?\

Thank you, I really appreciate your help!
