Anyone having second thoughts about their top choice(s)? Or, still having difficulty coming up with their top three? I am finding it a lot more difficult than I expected . . .

i did before, but now i'm set with my list. the only second thoughts i'm having is how many programs to rank. my list keeps shrinking and is currently down to 6. i don't overtly hate the places i'm not ranking, but i just don't envision myself being all that happy. i keep debating on whether to add one or two more to the list. hope i am not shooting myself in the foot.

According to this research by the NRMP in 2007 (couldn't find the one from 2008): http://www.nrmp.org/data/chartingoutcomes2007.pdf, the median number of ranks for those that didn't match was 6 versus 9 ranks for those that did match. I plan on playing it safe and ranking at least 9.

In regards to having difficulty with the decision...it's definitely hard!! I have thought about it so many times though, that I have decided to stick with what I decided would be my #1 about 2 weeks ago and not change it. Anything I do now would probably be impulsive since I had a pretty solid method of analyzing how I would rank my programs. Despite my method I occasionally wonder if it will be the best choice. However, I figure it's hard to know 100% since alot of the decision is based on 1-1.5 days of exposure to the program, so I've just got to trust myself and go for it!

Good luck making that final choice... 3 days til the deadline!
