Hello, this will be my second time applying for ERAS. I applied last year while I was a 4th year medical student but withdrew from the match during interview period. This year I am a graduate and have completed steps 1 and 2. I know this question must have been asked before but sifting through some pages of the forum I could not find anything - will it hinder my chances at residency as a second time applicant for ERAS? Are PDs able to see that I am a second time applicant? And if so how big of a factor will this be for filtering out candidates. Thanks much.

Yes

Yes

Depends. Specialty? Steps and grades? AMG/IMG/DO? Reason for withdrawing? All of these factors and more will play in to how much more difficult it will be for you.

Yes it will hinder your chances. But you're going to apply anyway, right? Nothing you can do about that...just present the best application package you can.

What were your Step scores? What specialty are you applying to?
