I just got accepted into medical school and I'm waiting to here from another. A brand new medical school opened up, Kirksville in Mesa, and I applied there as well. I'm already finished will all my other interviews and I was wondering if I should still spend the time and money on doing my secondaries for Kirksville. I would appreciate some opinions on this.
Thanks

Would you rather go there than the medical school you have gotten into or the ones you have already interviewed at? If the answer is no, I'm not sure why you're asking this, but if it's a yes, you have to weigh a number of factors.

1) Is it worth the cost? Airfare, Hotel stay, Car, Secondary app. fee, etc...?
2) Time? Out of work?
3) Reputation of a new school?

I believe that each new medical school will have its initial problems, but I am quite sure that graduates will be competent able-bodied physicians. I believe it's nice to have input from others, but at the end, it is your choice and I have a feeling you're leaning towards an option.

Best of luck.

yeah I agree, the main issue is deciding if you really want the option to go there, or if there is some other pressing reason why you want to go to the med school in Mesa. If you already got into one or more schools and have interviews, then you may not want to spent the resources that it would take to apply to Kirksville.

but best of luck in the future.

Another thing to factor in is that KCOM-Mesa is a completely different set up than most DO programs. If you haven't researched this fully, I would recommend doing that before you decide. If you like their system, you may want to apply. If you don't, then you'll have answered your Q.
