Looks like we have VCOM, NOVA, MSUCOM, OSUCOM, UMDNJ-SOM, OU-COM, TCOM, and TCOM-NV sending secondaries so far!!!

also, how do they notify you that it's complete? do you just have to look on that status link of that page after you've submitted and it won't say 'pending' after your school designations?

i am all set except my last transcript got sent out overnight yesterday so i'm hoping to see some action on that page finally.

I submitted my application on May 27th. They received my last transcript on June 9th and sent out my profile on the 16th. I heard back on the 20th!! Pretty fast! I wasn't expecting anything until July.

To check your status with the aacom, just login to their site. https://portal.aacom.org/aacomarc/
It uses the same user name and password as your application.

so all of you guys have already submitted the AACOM app? I wanted to ask a question regarding it. Do you just list your activities/volunteer/internships/research or do you just describe it also in a few lines??

I briefly described each activities since I did not have that many to list. It's just a way for me to fill up the space given.

I did not have space to do desciptions. I Pretty much wrote the title, dates, hours a week.

I had room for my employment as a lifeguard and other jobs. But no, I did not have enough room for descriptions... Hopefully I can talk about it in my secondaries though

I received my first secondary invite today, June 23rd, via email from OU-COM! Since I'm an out-of-stater they require me to sign a contract stating that I will practice in Ohio for five years after residency.

Yes, that's right, five years! That is fine with me though. Five years isn't that long in the grand scheme of things. Who knows, I might actually like living there and decide to stay there. You never know.

I just received my first from Touro! I hear they like to move things really fast. But I am little worried becuase of thier $2000 deposit 2 weeks after acceptance.

Ya, it kind of sucks having to pick so quickly. However, it's nice in that those that accept generally stick around.

Total of $2000. You have to make deposits of $1000 twice, and the date depends on when you get accepted. For me it was in Dec and March since I got accepted on Sept.

I received a letter in the mail on 24 June from UMDNJ-SOM inviting me to download and complete their secondary application! This is so cool, my first one! I hope the rest roll in soon! 😀

Problem is I think a letter from an MD that I've worked with for the last 3 years would be more valuable than a DO letter from someone that I've interviewed with for 45 minutes or so. So far only OSUCOM (out of the ones I've applied) have implicitly said DO on their website, perhaps I'll just go with an MD, and see what happens.

I'm excited about KCOM as well, I applied there as well.

You could always download adobe acrobat (full version which allows you to create and edit acrobat files) as a 30-day trial and fill them out. I ended up just attaching a sheet where I retyped the essay questions and then answered below them.

Me too. In addition, a handfull of schools have their apps in a WORD.doc format as well. These are sometimes easier to deal with if you do not have the adobe. I don't think I really hand wrote any essays.
