This seems dicey but I wanted some informed opinions.

How appropriate is it to reference other sections in the secondary to not beat a dead horse? For example, a secondary with one prompt about work throughout school and another prompt about gap years. Can I talk about work "as described in a later response" so that my readers don't have to hear me drone about work over and over?

Don't do it.

Noted, thank you.
one thing to keep in mind: assume the reader of your application has a stack of 10 that they need to get through and has maybe 5-10 minutes to review your application and make a decision about which pile you should go in. How do you want this person to spend their time? Best bet is to make things as clear and concise as possible.
