Just out of curiosity, can anyone tell me which schools only send you a secondary if they also intend to interview you?

A few years back, some of the schools would send you a secondary, then tell you to call within 30 days to set up your interview date.

It would be great if everyone did this so you didn't waste time and money on secondaries where they don't intend to interview you, AND they'd dramatically reduce the number of secondaries they have to read.
Of course, they'd also lose all that money form seconday apps - if you've got 3000 people paying, say $75 each, that's $225,000 in application fees!

Well, many of them use the secondary to decide if they want to interview.

Don't think of it as a secondary. That's just what they call it to maintain the illusion of a centralized application system. They're mostly sent out automatically, so it's really the application continuation with the school specific format and questions.

Vanderbilt only sends secondaries to those they're going to interview.

I know NYCOM and WVSOM will only send you a secondary application if you are granted an interview.
