U of W received my AMCAS app on 7/24. I still have not heard from them. They clearly stated in their initial letter to allow 4-6 weeks processing and review time.

Same here. I think danjo, another person, and I realized that unless you are applying MSTP from OOS you are not going to hear from them.

It does look as though you can still apply MSTP though.

I heard this exact same thing froma woman who was on their admissions board a few years back. She told me I was an idiot for applying to UW from California without selecting MSTP.

So, you can change to MSTP mid application? How do you do that? Update AMCAS for that school, and resubmit, or do you simply contact the school directly? And how on earth do you explain why you suddenly decided that the eight year program was what you really wanted to do? 😛

Hey there-

UCSF will e-mail once they receive you primary application. They they review it (takes 3-7weeks) after they get it. You can check you app status at the following website: https://www.medschool.ucsf.edu/appstatus/login.asp

Once they get your app the site will say:

"We have received your AMCAS application. Thank you for applying to the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine.

In the next three to ten weeks, our Admissions committee will carefully review your application. Except for any changes of address, no additional information is needed at this time. In fact, additional information cannot be added to your file during this review.

Invitations to submit a secondary application will be sent via email and also will be available on this site. Please check back regularly and feel free to explore UCSF in more detail.

All other status messages will be sent via regular U.S. mail. "

My AMCAS was verified in the second week of June but USCF did not register my primary until the third week of July. I received the primary verification, after which they suggest waiting 3-10 weeks before hearing from them again. That puts me out to October, perhaps.

I haven't received any emails from Duke...not even an email saying that the secondary is still under construction.

Same with UAB.

In regards to the MSU secondary question- All I've gotten is that "thanks, give us some money, and maybe then we'll send you a secondary" email. So, I paid my money, and I'm still waiting for the chance to write more essays (a very sarcastic Hooray! is appropriate here).

i was verified early july, but their 2ndary came out early august, i called about 2-3 weeks after it was out, they r really nice and they jus give u the info over the phone takes a minute

Duke shouldn't count (cause of the email) and UAB shouldn't, either. I called their admin office and they said don't attempt it until you get an email from them, cause it's not live.
