Secondaries

Hello all!

Just have a quick question about secondaries: who all gets them? About what percentage of applicants get them? Are they more/less important than primaries? And are your chances better if you receive them earlier?

I received my first one today (2015 cycle).

@itsnosolution ... Getting a secondary does not mean anything (for most schools)... Some schools send secondary to everyone just to make money. Others send them to applicants who meet specific cutoff, which 99% of the time are really low compared to the matriculated average stats of the school. You submitted early, and that is probably why you got you secondary early, so don't try to extrapolate anything from that... Both are important! Your primary is what has your stats, EC, PS and if they are not good, you probably won't get far. On the other hand, if you don't write a good secondary, most school might decline to invite you for an interview.

Great answer. I have a question for you. Do people get secondaries on weekends from schools? or is it just a monday through friday thing? I got 8 secondaries today and it's the end of the week. I wanna finish more this weekend.

@mrh125... Monday-Friday IMO since admission staffs usually work from monday thru friday...

For some schools it's automated...so you may get them on the weekend I believe!
