Just a quick question (forgive me for being a pest, im not an SDN regular but simply a n00b)
,
I just got back from vacation and checking my iPhone inbox, i've received about 7 secondaries.

DMS (23rd)
URochester (25th)
GWU (26th)
Jefferson (1st)
Temple & Albert Einstein (2nd)

I'm going to start them tomorrow and complete them by the end of the week hopefully.

Are any of these late starts now? I didn't think to start them as soon as I got them in the mail, but recently reading the posts of SDNers has sent a shiver (or two) down my spine. PLEASE answer this question!?

Much Appreciated. 😕

Just don't put them off for months. Most people here are like overly prepared and way early with everything. If you finish them by the end of the week, it'll be just fine.

Unless there is some imposed deadline, dont worry at all dude. You are not late by any means, remember sdn represents the most neurotic and high end of applicants which are the minority. If you had them in by the end of the week you are fine. Interviews dont start till sept typically so you are in fine shape if they are in during july.

start cracking, though OP.🙂

Also, just in case you already didn't check them out DMS, GWU, Jefferson and Einstein are not bad at all. You could probably get them all done in a day.

kinda piggybacking onto this question... the only thing I'm waiting for are my LORs, so I can't really submit my app until those are in (I've been writing my essays in the meantime). I go to school on the quarter system, so school has really only been out for 2-3 weeks, but at what point should I start "reminding" my profs about the letters? I know they're working on them, I just don't know when they'll be finished....

I'd think about sending a friendly little reminder now-ish. A LoR really only takes a few hours to do, and you'd like to have them get your letter out of the way rather than have it languish on the bottom of their to-do pile. I'd just give them a little update like,

"Thank you so much for agreeing to write my letter. I finished my primary application, and have started to work on my secondaries. I hope to be finished by July X (at least a week in the future). Can I provide you with any additional information that will help in your letter writing? Thank you so much, your efforts are an integral part of my application."

Just a question,

7-10 days to submit after receiving them too long?

The longest was GWU which was 14 days.

Just getting scared because im reading all over the place that you should get em back to the school within two days and whatnot.

My premed adviser (she happens to be the president of the national prehealth professions advisers or whatever it is, seriously) states that its probably advisable to get them out within 2-3 weeks and some of them even around ten days. True story? or should I be panicking? 😕😕😕

Just do them as quickly as is reasonable. A few weeks shouldn't hurt you, unless the school specifically states it wants the secondary back within a certain period of time (ie Northwestern).
