Hi, I searched the re-application threads, and there is a question similar to mine, but it's been dead for a while so I thought I'd make a new post.

My question: I am a re-applicant and wanted to know if I should change the answers to some essay questions, or if I can keep my original one? With some questions there is room for change (ie, what my most stressful moment was, etc.) and others I'm drawing a blank like: "At Rosalind Franklin University, we celebrate and support a Life in Discovery. Briefly describe what a Life in Discovery means to you."

How would I change that up besides editing it and making sure my grammar is correct? See what I mean?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

I def. am in the same boat as you; I'm not sure how much to change and what to change.

But, some consensus among reapplicants (that I've talked with) seem to be that admission committees really do understand that a year (a year in which most of the time is spent doing applications) isn't going to have extreme, major changes. Of course, some people will, but admission committee understand that limited time between realizing you need reapply and actually reapplying.

It seems that what they will be looking for in your essays is (if they happen to look back at your old app) did you take the time to find out what your weaknesses were the previous cycle and how did you remedy it? Not enough clinical experience? Did you begin shadowing someone, volunteer more, etc. etc. This point is usually done in reapplicant essays or during interviews.

Anyways, to get down to it, questions that ask about why you would be perfect for the school, you can use a majority of the old one, but I would suggest adding in new experiences from last time, and this time (you don't need to write you are reapplying since they will know anyways). Adding in In March I started ______ and it taught me ______, is probably good to add in.

I hope that makes sense... 😳

good luck!😀

Jenn, your answer totally makes much sense, and thanks for the detailed reply. You helped me a lot!
