Secondary Applications

Hey guys!

I was just wondering why some schools are sending out secondary applications already. I didn't even take my DAT's yet!!! Is this usually the case? I thought they at least screen your AADSAS application first. I got one from UCLA today and it's soooo long. Do you think we need to finish these secondary applications asap even if we don't have our DAT's in yet...because I could sure use the time studying.

most of them you can take a little time (but you probably shouldn't since earlier is always better). However UCLA and UCSF have a required deadline for you to return the 2ndary. I think UCLA was 1-2 weeks (i didn't get mine in intime), and UCSF gives you a month to finish it. Most other schools don't give you such a short deadline.

If you think UCLA's is long, hopefully you didn't apply to UCSF. That one is a real pain!

watch out for those deadlines!! I think I barely made my UCLA. Well I know for sure I had it post marked a few days before the deadline but if it actually got there by the day I don't know. I figured they wouldn't care that much as long as it was post marked before the deadline. I need to e-mail them and check the status. They can't be that strict can they???????????

Hey Fonz, I've emailed them twice since I sent my secondary in and they haven't told me anything yet. I sent the sec & transcripts in well over a month ago, emailed them 2 weeks later to see if they had it, and they responded to email again in a week. I waited 2 weeks, emailed again, and I'm still awaiting a response. I wouldn't be such a thorn to them but they set that deadline; and I need to know if all the transcripts, etc actually arrived!?!?!

USC and UoP do not have secondary apps.

I sent my secondary for UCLA over a month ago and my check never cleared so I sent an email asking if they got it. I didn't get a response for like two weeks, but the lady finally responded and said they had my secondary, but didn't have my letters (she was on vacation, thats why it took so long to respond). A few days later they sent me an email saying my application was complete.
