Hello D.O.'s to be....

I've received secondary applications asking for a short essay explaining my interest in osteopathic medicine, however in the essay section of the primary application I already went through what I find attractive about the philosophy, and what inspired and convinced me that I wanted to be a D.O. Should I basically just restate in the secondary essay the same things I already wrote in the primary essay? I can say a few things about why I might want to go to particular schools, but I?m not sure if I have anything else or anything substantially different to say other than what I wrote in the primary.

How did other people handle this?

Thanks!!!!!!!!

my primary application statement was why I wanted to be a physician

my secondary application statements were more about why I liked the ideals of osteopathy, what I wanted to accomplish, and what I had done to prepare. In a way it was just rehashing the same statment but at a different angle. I was "selling" myself to the schools in my secondary, "hey pick me I rock!", that sort of thing.

Some secondaries were just easy though, like AZCOM/CCOM.

Good luck!

My secondary essay talked more about how I was compatible with the specific school, rather than my general interest in osteopathy. For instance, WVSOM is very focused on producing physicians for rural WV, so I talked about why I wanted to be a "country doc" and why osteopathy was well suited to my goals.
