If you have the ADEA guidebook they list which schools offer the fee waiver for supplements. Sometimes I can't find it on the schools website, but the guidebook will normally tell you if they do or not. After that, I'd contact the school and ask about the waiver.

I found out today while I was applying that Pittsburgh waived the supplemental fee if you have the FAP approval letter.

I'm applying to 20+ schools and have checked all of their websites for inconsistency about the waivers. I haven't found any besides Pittsburgh. But I'm hoping maybe some schools do offer the waiver and just haven't included it in their website.

thank you, do you know how the waiver works for those schools? I know some schools like Western/ Case wants us to pay first and then will reimburse us after we send the FAP approval. Is it true for MWU?

Actually, when I spoke to Case they said to send them the email confirmation you received from AADSAS before you pay. They said when you pay and then they refund it they get charged like it was a bounced check. The only school that wanted it after payment was western. Once you get a confirmation of payment from them you reply to their email with the email from AADSAS. All other schools told me to send them the email asap so they can waive the fee.

ohh I see. thank you for that information.

did you wait till you got the confirmation email from the schools? I esubmitted but my gpa hasn't been verified yet and only VCU has contacted me so far

VCU will not accept.

I did not wait. MWU-AZ waived my fee and most of the others I haven't gotten secondary apps from but I sent the email anyway. A few have already emailed me back saying that it is in my file or the fee has been waived.

Thanks for the VCU update!

Some of the schools on this list I didn't get around to emailing or never heard back from them, so it's not 100% accurate, but the data I provided for them was gathered from the 2014-2015 ADEA GUIDE. However, the verified ones are for certain. Also, if you're wondering, the schools on the list beginning at the top have the least expensive tuition moving down to the most expensive, while also accounting for those schools that allow OOS residents to become in-state.

Quick question:

Do I notify the schools via email to waive the secondary fee if I was approved of FAP?

or is waiving an option that is given in the secondary application?

All require you to forward the FAP approval email you received. ASDOH and MOSDOH have an option to select on the secondary but you still need to email it to them.

NYU requires a FAFSA to be completed and once they received the SAR report, they'll process the waiver.

USC said that the approval takes months and they require FAFSA and 1040/other tax documents

The ones I know for sure (because I have waived them this cycle):

NYU: Forward FAP Approval Email + Email FAFSA SAR Report. (took me ~2 days after these were sent).

MWU-Il: Forward FAP Approval Email. (It was waived the next day; can check via their portal system).

MWU-Az: Forward FAP Approval Email. (It was waived that same day; can check via their portal system).

USC: Emailed FAFSA SAR Report + Forwarded FAP Approval Email + 2014 Tax Returns. (took 2 days after these were sent).

LECOM: Forward FAP Approval Email. (took 3 days).

ROSEMAN: Forward FAP Approval Email. (took 3 days).

BU: Forward FAP Approval Email. (took 2 days, they will send you an alternate supplemental application through email).

The ones do not offer the waiver:

Temple (Says on their supplemental application)

Tuft (Not too sure here, but I just paid for it)

Hey guys!

Submitted my Duke secondary, requested a fee waiver on 7/6 but still hasn't been processed. Called three times, they just kept saying they are behind. Has anyone received their duke waiver? If so, when did you request? Thanks!
