Secondary Length

It is a LIMIT, not a requirement that you go up to 500 words. Some people will have more to say about this, some will have less. I don't think the sibling one is supposed to be this detailed.

The limits are to stop gunners from writing 10-page essays in response to each question. Respond to the prompt succinctly and completely. Ain't nobody got time for fluff.

Searched some threads and couldn't seem to find a solid answer this.

I'm currently working on a secondary that gives a 500 word limit for each response. Some of the questions ask about siblings, fun activities, etc.

I am nowhere near 500 words for some of these responses. My sibling response, for example, is~100 words. I described their education, current job, some traits to describe them, and my rapport with them.

My question is will these short responses be seen as a red flag? I guess I could get creative with the sibling response and talk about an experience we shared growing up or something but this seems INCREDIBLY off-topic. I geared my answer to give adcoms limited insight into my sibling's life, not the sibling's entire life story.

Thoughts?

I agree! They simply ask for name/age/brief comments. I talked to some accepted students, however, and one of them said that they didn't have any siblings so they wrote about their experiences as a single child. This seems off-topic but made me wonder if I need to be more creative with my responses.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Just do what the question asks, don't over think it.
