Sorry if this is a silly question, but I'm a little confused here :dead:

Is the secondary oocyte taken up fallopian tubes AFTER ovulation? And if it becomes fertilized, only then will oogenesis be complete, forming a mature ovum.

Is that right?

Yup, secondary oocytes are arrested in metaphase II. Upon fertilization in the Fallopian tube, they complete the second meiotic division.
