I'm curious to see who everyone uses to proofread secondaries. It seems like a burden to have a friend / co-worker read all of them. Or maybe you don't have them proofread at all...

My dad read all of mine - he's proofread anything important that I've ever written since middle school. Ask someone you trust, who will be brutally honest with you and who has a firm control of proper grammar.

My undergrad's English department had a service that proofed papers... Check it out. I found it through my "pre-professional" advisor.

I didn't use anyone at first. And then I started catching big mistakes after submission. So now my GF does a once over which is great since I'm running into a pile of hard prompts these days.

well, I am trying a service that charges $2/page for froodreading. There are a whole bunch of them online $2-4/page. They do not care about your idea/ but just proofread grammar/punctuation.

Wow, I didn't realize proof reading by someone else is so important for secondaries (especially paying a service for 10 lines of text?!?). I just had a feeling writing something fairly generic that had a nice flow to it was good enough. I only made people go over my personal statement.
