it asks what qualities and abilities do i possess that i can contribute to the
a. educational environment
b. diversity of the entering class

A, i just talked about how i work well in groups, etc.

BUT for B, i really don't know what to write!
do you think it's better to focus on one or two things and just write detailed about that? or list more things?
I was going to talk about my passion for drawing and my Chrisitianity.
I could talk about other things, how i love singing, playing guitar, playing volleyball, bowling, cooking etc.. but that begins to look like a list..
so I'm not sure which approach to take.

My advice is to pick a two or three of those things that are really important to you and that you have spent a lot of time pursuing recently. You can hint that you have a variety of interests, but just focus on a few so that they'll seem more "special" to you.

That's how I would answer that question, at least.

Yep! I'm applying to both New Jersey schools. I've got an interview at UMDNJ-NJMS too, but on a different day. I'm so nervous!!!

A class' diversity balance is not only to admit people from different SES/racial/culture/work backgrounds, but also to admit people who are not one-dimensional -- people who will bring a new perspective to the class. Thus, diversity is about your own interests, as well as how you relate to others. It's fine to write about your main interests (I agree that 2-3 of these are plenty) with plenty of specifics about how you've pursued these in interactions with other people. For instance, have you taught classes at your church? Are you in a bowling league? A band? Activities like these give the adcomm a better idea of how you'll fit into their entering class.

Gosh.. I really need to send this USC secondary soon!

are you at a med school already? you just sound like you've been through this process already...
are you at USC or UCLA?
i'd really like to go to one of the two..
but i am not a CA resident.. so it's probably easier to get into USC than UCLA...

pity... UCLA would be so much cheaper!
but i heard USC give good financial aid.. need-based grants... is that true?
