My friend tells me that I can start doing my secondaries now although AADSAS has not mailed my application yet.

Is this true?

Also I found http://www.adea.org/dental_educatio...ents/2011SupplementalTableCompleteList(2).pdf

Which states some schools want some application fees at the same time of AADSAS.

However when I go their website (such as Pacific https://events.trustevent.com/styles/T000001/index.cfm?eid=583)
The date posted doesn't really make sense.

The only school that sent me an email saying I should pay an Application Fee was Case.

Could someone elaborate more on this?

For schools that have their secondaries available, I would get on those immediately. They often include an essay or two and take some time. Also, a lot of schools don't consider your application completely complete until they have both AADSAS and your secondary. And I wouldn't just sit and wait for schools to tell you to send them their money or secondaries, go to their websites and see what they want you to do. Often they just expect you to send them a check.

Ah **** I didn't know 🙁

Okay.. Um do I have to pay via check? Or is there an online way to pay?

Some schools have an online payment system (Case, Buffalo, etc) but others you have to send a check. Some schools also require you to send them a picture of yourself too. Each school's website will tell you what you need to send and where to send it to. A lot of schools won't even look at your application until they receive your money so I would send that soon. 🙂

Oh haha I see.

I saw that thing about sending my picture on the link on my first post.
But it says after they contact me.

My application hasn't been sent out yet so I wouldn't have to worry about it too much right now right?

And thanks for the info. I personally find it baffling that some schools don't have an online payment method.. It's not like its the 80s or whatever.

You have to remember that every business, dental schools included, has to pay merchant fees on credit cards/debit cards. That is why they may prefer checks.
