Secondary questions that barely apply and my very short answers

Hello, everyone. There are a lot of secondary essays to the tune of "explain why your undergraduate education was interrupted and what you did during that time". I had a very brief interruption (1 semester) and literally just went to work to pay for school. For schools like Einstein who are looking for a 3000 character response to such questions, is it okay to be very concise? I explain the reason for the break at length in their other sections (explain college transfers, etc.). Thanks in advance.

Not an adcom, but I think yes! In general, I feel a concise explanation would be received better than an artificially drawn-out story. Best of luck this cycle!

Some people will need 3000 characters to describe a break from formal education and others, like yourself, will need far less. Take what you need but don't feel an obligation to use more than you require to tell your story. Concise is gold.

You are NOT obligated to write out a 3000 character response. Have mercy on those of us who have to read these things.

Concision is valued and not a problem.

However, if you have 3000 characters in this question to provide context for a gap, consider using the other parts of the application to highlight positive aspects of your background. Then use this question to provide greater context as to why you took a one-semester break.

IOW, are you using all your application real estate to your best advantage in this way?
