I have been having anxiety issues for a while that I have been able to control. Just recently things have been more out of my control and affecting me physically. I live in a small town and am not sure if I should seek help from within my town or go out of town for help. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I work as a tech in psychiatry. If you're having outstanding issues, definitely go see a psychiatrist. Meds can definitely help (sometimes).

However, in my opinion, meds can only do so much for so long. What I'm saying is, they will not cure your anxiety. You should try cognitive behavioral therapy instead with a clinical psychologist. That therapy trains you to reroute your thoughts and hopefully develop coping skills that will last your whole life.

Good luck with everything. 🙂
