I am very proficient in Epic EMR as I did my residency with it. However, in residency you have your seniors to guide you as well as a low patient load initially, which gives you time to adjust.

When I hit the attending world, the medicine was not a problem at all, but I had more issues with the EMR. I would know what to do with the patient, but just get stuck maneuvering the EMR. The EMR ortientation staff was average, and it is frustrating to call them for every single glitch, when you have 17 patients to see and 3 admissions to do. It is just not practical. Well THAT JOB ENDED BAD.

Going forward, I took up a main job that has EPIC (Phew!). However there are couple moonlighting jobs I will be doing that have Cerner for their EMR. From what I have seen so far, it is not bad at all, but once again the EMR training staff is terribe. My orientation was only 1.5 hours long, and I left there feeling less than completely confident. I am googling some youtube videos and trying to do some self learning, but is there a way or a course online where they would teach me how to navigate Cerner.

While I understand most of this things, are learn as you go along; I hate not having the luxury of seeing a small patient panel as an attending, so I want to be AS prepared as I can possibly be.
Also, this moonlighting gigs will be locums type of gigs. I mention this, as I dont anticipate anyone volunteering to follow me around and help me for a few days, (kinda like a senior resident would), and I feel bad asking as most people I would work with would have no direct benefit from helping me.

I am a 30 year old, and my computer skills are pretty good comparable to any other average 30 year old, so that is NOT a problem.

From epic to cerner you should not have any issues, I trained in epic and moonlight( not for much longer) in a place that has cerner( orientation was 30 m) and I find it much better!
It's very intuitive and has a lot of pre populated templates and you can also borrow them from other users much more easier than epic.
If you are computer literate as you stated you will be fine, rest assured.
