Anyone have experience on this? Recent closing prices? How are you paid ? Percent sales or RX count?

Been thinking about investing in doing a scratch open, building up a modest RX count and selling.
Commercial storefront rents in my area under $1 psf/month (leases very negotiable in this area). Would be just me and 1 tech/cashier.

From what I've seen, the chains often pay for script count and assets - not goodwill. They typically will negotiate an employment contract (or at least a short-term one) for you to work at their nearby store to welcome your patients there. You can likely get paid more by an independent buyer when you sell the business as a going concern (and they pay for goodwill). Depends on your market / timing / etc. If you don't want to start from scratch, I've also seen people seek out fixer-upper businesses and get them cheap, turn them around, and flip them.
