Are we supposed to send semester grades (Fall 03) to the medical schools we're applying to? How about the ones we've already interviewed or been accepted to?

How should I send them? Do I send them or have them sent by my school. If it's by my school it's $8 a pop! UGH!

Hey Nor!

I think you have to have the school send it because it is more official.

Nope... send a letter. If they want an official, money-costing transcript, they'll ask for it. The thing is this: are students REALLY going to lie about their grades and jeopardize a possible interview/acceptance? It really doesn't make sense to lie to get into a school and then get kicked out. Adcoms KNOW this and that's why the schools I called asked for a letter, not an official transcript. Save your moola, ok? ok! 😉

Hey AID!

Thanks so much for correcting me. I was told by many people that I should send an official transcript. I am going to have them send anyway because my school sends transcripts for free. I will also be including a letter updating my application. 😀

Yeah, but I would send them only if they were "good." Only a few schools require you to send in fall term grades.

WHAT?!? For FREE!?! You are sooooooo lucky! Ours are 6 bucks!! Not as bad as Nor's $8.00, but they add up!! AND, if we need to fax, that's an additional 6 bucks! How crappy is that? On top of $300 parking for the year, they try to screw us every chance they get! I say if it's free, go for it!

I'm even pissed that Dartmouth wants me to waste $.37 to withdraw my app!!

P.S. Kwanny, I'm sure DrJ2B's grades are eeeeeeeeeeexcelent! (said like Mr. Burns on the Simpsons) 😉

Most schools want an official transcript for the senior year, and its optional to add to your file midyear (especially useful for waitlisted schools or schools you havent heard of, since its a good way to say Im still interested).

My school does it for free, and I can do it online, so Ill do it for the schools Ive been accepted to and schools Im still looking at just for the heck of it.

Sending transcripts should be free at my school. NYU gets enough of my money. They need to reimburse me somehow. I am sorry that students have to pay to send transcripts. It should all be done for free. I wish I could do it all online, but NYU sucks and hence does not have that easier way to do things. Thanks for the kind words AID. I hope my hard work this semester pays off. I really want to go to UPenn. I hope they see how much I want to go there. I am going to send a letter of intent (even though I did originally apply ED). All I want for my birthday and X-mas is a UPenn acceptance. 😍

DrJ2B, when's your b-day? 😉

Hey kwanny!

My b-day is not until April 11 (I think it is on Easter next year). I was actually born on Easter Sunday. A UPenn acceptance would be an early birthday gift that would make me utterly happy!
