Hey guys, my school is on the quarter system, so can someone help me? Are semester hours the same as semester units? This is probably a silly question. Thanks! 😀

i converted semester hour into quarter hour and it turned out to be 4.4776 units. Does that mean i must take a 5 unit class for that subject??

Typically, yes. A 5-credit in quarter hours will cover a 4-credit semester class.

I am running into an issue where the school wants ( example: Chem 1 and 2, 4 semester hours each, or their equivalent would be 6 quarter hours.) No schools around me go above 5 quarter hours, and there's no more than the two classes per subject. It's like a pack of 10 hotdogs and a pack 8 buns, it's madness. How do you work it out?

You really have no choice but to just take the two general chemistries - how many credits do their labs have? It should even out - worst case, just contact the schools you want to apply to, and ask them. 🙂
