Hello Everyone,
This thread may help Canadian students hoping to go to US DO schools. All the DO schools have `semester hours`` as their admission requirements. Canadian schools have courses with credits and units. So some courses with labs or without labs have 3 units to 4 units. I was wondering how we can convert each class or credits that we have taken to semester hours?
These are the courses I have taken so far, and I want to ensure I have enough semester hours for each course for all DO schools that accept Canadians in order to enhance my chances of getting accepted:
- 1 chemistry course with lab - 4 credits
- 1 chemistry course without lab- 2 credits
- 1 chemistry lab only course- 2 credits
- 1 organic chem course with lab- 4 credits
- 1 organic chem course without lab- 2 credits
- 2 bio courses with labs - 4 credits each (8 credits total)
- 1 genetics class without lab - 3 credits
- 1 biochemistry course without lab - 3 credits
- 1 physics course with lab - 3 credits
- 1 english course - 3 credits
Are these courses that I have taken, when converted into semester hours enough for all DO schools that accept Canadians? I apologize if what I am asking for is too much to ask, but after so much research (calling AACOMAS, and each school) they were unable to help me. Maybe, canadian students who are currently applying to DO schools or who have been accepted can help me.
Your help is really appreciated guys!
