How do medical schools feel about someone sending a template for the letter of recommendation to their writer? I had an unfortunate number of times where my LOR from previous writers lacked a letter header or signature. So I think the best solution is sending a template for them to use. But I am afraid that since I am sending the exact same template to multiple writers, they might think it is fake when I am sending them together.

It can be frustrating when these instructions are readily available on the AMCAS site (https://students-residents.aamc.org...letter-service-advisors-and-other-letter-aut/). Just let your letter writers know that the schools you are applying to require that they be on formal letterhead and signed.

For a template on how to write their letter, I would just send them AAMC's recommendations (https://www.aamc.org/download/349990/data/lettersguidelinesbrochure.pdf).

At the end of the day though, content matters a lot more than style. And we don't fault applicants for mistakes made by the letter writer. If anything, it reflects poorly on them, not you.
