Hi all,

So, these are for pre-II schools. I've already sent some update letters/letters of interest to some schools a little over a month ago. For context, I have a very low undergrad GPA, and I'm currently pursuing a master's in biomedical science to improve my GPA. I received all A's this semester. Is it important that I send another letter with my updated grades, considering my low GPA situation? I have a good MCAT score and have already been told by adcoms that the only thing holding my app back is my GPA.

Thanks.

It won't hurt. But bear in mind that getting a Masters is far more helpful in DO admissions than MD admissions. Graduate GPAs are considered separately in AMCAS, and graduate grades are generally inflated (A's are the norm and expected).

Most programs explicitly request that candidates do not send pre interview update letters whereas other programs welcome them. Confirm with each program that you have applied to and see what their policy is.
