I'm debating whether its worth it to send another update letter to schools now that adcoms are coming back from winter break. I sent a previous update in early November about presenting research at a conference and mentoring students in my major.

For this letter, I would like to write about publishing a paper in my school's undergrad research journal and getting straight A's this past semester. I was wondering if this is substantial enough to include in an update and whether now is the best time to send. For context, I've currently interviewed at Drexel (deferred) and Geisinger in late October, with no news from either yet.

Read each school's guidelines for update letters regarding specifics. Typically they are reserved for significant updates. I submitted 2 significant updates prior to winter break and got 3 IIs in Jan so it does help, just make sure it's meaningful and not filler info.
