Send transcripts before or after primary?

To request transcripts for aamc do we get them sent before we submit our primary appt or is the request sent once we submit the application?

It is up to you to request transcripts. I highly recommend doing that as early as possible, since then once you submit your application will immediately enter the queue. You don't want to be waiting on transcripts.

Either way is fine, but your application won't enter the transcript verification queue until all your original transcripts are checked in and the primary application has been paid for and submitted.

I am a little confused. Do we order our transcripts through aamc or do we order them from each individual school and have them mailed to aamc?

There is a aamc transcript request form on the application. Do I send that form to my school? Does aamc send the form for me ?

How does this all work?

I have the same question for letters of rec

They don’t send any of that for you. You send the requests yourself.

Print sheet. Follow your school’s transcript request protocol. Give them the form to send in with your transcript to AAMC.

Letters of recommendation: Ask for letters. Either follow the AMCAS protocol which is available online or use a delivery service like Interfolio.

So I order the transcripts for each school and mail them the aamc paper?

Like I said, follow the protocol for your undergrad institution. At mine, we order the transcript online and e-mail them the transcript form and they send both via paper mail to the AAMC, together. It could be that your institution does things slightly differently.

Should I order my transcripts now before final grades for my last semester which come out around June 6th or should I wait until I have all grades? Also if I send them now, I have to request another batch after final grades have come out? Thanks for you help.
 
You can order them only once; grades are not updated in AMCAS after verification. I generally advise students to wait for final grades before submitting transcripts

Go to registrar and ask about the transcript. Usually how it works. I recommend sending as soon as final grades kicks In. I needed to send in 4 different transcripts and it’s nice to get out the way quick.
