I was waitlisted at a school this cycle and this school was my only interview. On May 1st, I sent them an update letter regarding new advancements in the activities I've been doing, like research and a new publication, etc. However, I would also like to send another letter talking about why I would be a good fit at the school. I was just wondering if this would come off as annoying and off-putting. Or if they may see my desperation as a sign that I really really want to go to that school. For the record, it is a school that encourages applicants to send updates and whatnot but I don't know if this one would be too much, considering I sent a Thank you letter/LOI after my interview as well as a letter on the 1st. Please let me know what you all think!

Thanks in advance

I sent two update letters to the school I was waitlisted at in early April, exactly 1 week apart and I did get an acceptance later on :]

I will say with your 2nd letter, you can focus on being not only a good fit at your school but also another facet/skill/experience you've learned or that was important to you in the previous updates you mentioned.

In the same boat as you, my friend. Waitlisted at the school I really want to go to. I sent them about 3 letters since I interviewed. It definitely works for some people, especially for schools that are more receptive to those things. I would have suggested incorporating it in the same letter but at this point, I wouldn't pass it up and then regret later.

Do you guys think its too late now, since there is already waitlist movement at this school?

Nope, it's better now then later in the month I think but who knows!

For those that sent multiple emails, did you guys get a reply from the school? Or did they not reply to your emails?

I sent a LOI to a school that doesn't specifically mention anything about LOIs and got a reply saying thank you etc. and it was added to my file

Yes to the first question, and yes to the red part.

If the school is Gtown, Mayo or Jefferson, then go ahead...they are either very needy, and/or like seeing candidates grovel.

It's not one of those schools but it is a T10 that directly invites students to send any updates or additional info they may have through their portal.
