Sending a Thank you Note?

So I had an interview today for a pharmacy internship at one of the local hospitals. Do you guys think I should send a thank you email to one of my interviewers? If so, what should I put in their other than the standard thank you for your time/consideration? I don't want to come across as too pushy or anything, but I want to thank them for their time; maybe this will kind of help my interview today as it didn't go as well as I expected 🙁

Any thoughts?

Yes, it is standard business etiquette to send a thank you email. Keep it short and simple! 2-3 short paragraphs should be suffice.

Great! How soon after the interview do you recommend I send it? Within 24 hours of my interview or after all of the other candidates have interviewed?
