Weird situation:

I'm in a gap year currently, rising senior now studying for DAT, which I will take mid September. Problem is, after that senior year in undergrad, I will be taking another gap year as I am not in shape to apply just yet (applying late, etc.). I will hopefully be applying the first day of applications the following year after this coming fall and spring semester.

So the question is, I will not be applying to any schools this year after I take the DAT, so what am I supposed to do with the "sending the scores" portion of the DAT? I still don't know if I want to pay the extra money to send the scores at the moment, as I have no schools I'm going to be applying to.

If this question is a bit too confusing please say so. Thanks fory our help.

what do you mean sending the application? u mean sending the scores?
Did you register for DAT yet? when you register for DAT, they ask which schools to receive your scores. I picked about 30 of them, and there was no extra fee (385 total)
if you are not sure, just call ada DAT exam. They were really helpful when i called them.

Sorry, yea i meant scores. See, you picked 30 of the schools, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do as I am not going to be applying the next application term. I will be applying the following year AFTER my senior term (this coming fall and spring). So essentially I will be applying in two years. So during this time, will the schools that receive my dat scores just float my scores or will they be available when I start applying way later in the future?

I'm a bit confused by your question but I'll try to help you as best I can:

1. Sign up for your DENTPIN
2. With your DENTPIN you register for your DAT and check off all the schools you want to attend.
3. Take your DAT...your scores will be saved by AADSAS
4. Take the gap year as you said and do what you feel will contribute positively to your overall application
5. June 2014: Open the AADSAS application and your DAT scores will update to the site a few days after.

If you do not intend to apply this cycle, you do not need to worry about sending your application or anything.

Hope this helps!

Ok, I posted before seeing your clarification 🙂

Your scores will be saved by AADSAS (the application service). Whenever you decide to apply, the scores will be uploaded to your app automatically.

Thanks so much to both of u, especially paperclipz. truly appreciate ur time and answer

I clicked every single school on the list because I wasn't sure where I wanted to apply-even Canada! Its free, better safe than sorry and probably the only free thing for the rest of the process so might as well take advantage!
