Do you have to send the same personal statement to each school through AMCAS ? I was hopping to send a more aggressive letter to the top schools and a more conservative one to the regular schools.

Yes, your personal statement is the same for all schools. Your secondary is the only part of your pre-interview application that's school-specific.

No, you cannot send a different personal statement to each school.

You can however, write aggressive secondaries? I don't think that would help you though.

I agree with this. Some of my secondary responses were more specific while others were more generic. Don't really think it affected whether an interview and/or acceptance was extended in my case.
 
Go w/ conservative for all as to not turn them off potentially. Then get aggressive in the secondaries if you wish.

It's a personal statement about why you want to go to medical school and why you are interested in medicine. Not a statement about how much you love this school or that school.
 
Top
