Sending in a late 4th letter for Ophtho

I had heard from other people that for Ophthalmology I caa send in a 4th letter from a late rotation. I called SF Match today to ask them how I register the name for the 4th letter writer. To my surprise they told me that that do not accept a fourth letter. Can anyone please advise me on this? If I want to send a fourth letter do I have to send it out individually to each of the programs that I have applied to? I would really appreciate your help on this matter. Thank You.

I think to send in a 4th letter you have to copy the letters your self and send it to each program separately...

you have a few options:

1) if you're writer gave you a copy of the letter, you could scan it into PDF and email it to your programs

If you waived your rights to the letter and you are not allowed to see it:

2) if you're student affairs office has a copy of the letter, you could have them scan it into PDF and email it to your programs

3) you could have your writer give you multiple copies of original, signed letters in sealed envelopes with the signature across the back of the seal, and you can mail these to your programs

make sure you call all the programs you are applying to and ask them if they even accept additional LORs, because some of them don't...
