Okay this is my two cents:
AADSAS (which is on the ADEA website) now automatically uploads your official DAT scores, and sends it out along with your AADSAS application to all the dental schools you apply to (whereas BEFORE you would fill in your DAT scores yourself on the application AND you would have to go to ADA website to request/pay for DAT scores to be sent to your designated schools)
TECHNICALLY speaking, because AADSAS (ADEA WEBSITE) is automatically pulling your official scores from the DAT (ADA website), dental schools should no longer ask applicants to pay ADA for official DAT scores to be sent since they will already be receiving your official scores with your AADSAS application.
However, apparently it seems as though dental school admissions have not kept up with this new change, and so some schools are still asking students to pay extra and have their DAT scores sent in through ADA still. It might take these schools some time to catch on.
Either way, do not pay for the DAT scores to be sent until you have called and asked the schools regarding the new policy. If the school wants to be ridiculous and have you pay extra money to have individual official DAT score report sent to them (even though they have the official scores on your AADSAS application), then thats when you should cough up that extra money.
I may have tried to spell out my thoughts a bit too much. Hope it doesnt sound like a rant.
