Sending in Recommendation Letter

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If the application is submitted through Pharmcas, then almost certainly the LORs should be submitted there too. It could vary with school, so you should check the application info web page of each of the schools you are applying to.

Some schools are very particular about LoRs. Touro, for example, requires LoRs be submitted on professional, departmental letterhead, so your writers have to send hard-copies to PharmCAS (which they then scan and forward with your application). Kind of a pain in the rear IMO. So, yeah, contact each school absolutely.

I never knew this and never told my LOR writers about submitting a hard copy. I was still accepted to Touro.

I know Western requires hard copies sent directly to the school even though they participate in PharmCAS.

It says it right on their website.

No specific form is required, though letters should be on professional letterhead.

Perhaps they wrote that in there, but don't really enforce it. Nonetheless, it's there, and I would plan for it. Perhaps they just overlooked it for you, because you were a super-stellar candidate, or something. *shrug*

I think that only applies if the letter writer sends the LOR directly to the school. If your letter writer submits it through PharmCAS then you don't need a letterhead, but most professors will use one.

Interesting. I e-mailed the admissions coordinator over there to get a clarification on it, so when s/he gets back to me I'll update.
