I'm a little confused about how DAT scores get sent in. Once I take the test, do the scores automatically get sent to schools that I had indicated on my AADSAS application or do I need to do something else to make that happen?

Also, how long after you take the DAT do schools receive your scores through AADSAS? I'm a little worried because I'm taking the DAT the first week of November, which I realize is late, and am wondering whether it's going to take another 3 weeks AFTER I take the test for schools to receive my score report.

Any feedback would be appreciated. 🙂

Your scores do not get sent to schools via AADSAS. When you register for the DAT, it allows you to list the schools you want your scores sent to, the first 5 are free, and the rest are $25 (I think) per school. This is in addition to the fees you have given to AADSAS. It is possible to select schools after your test, but since you are taking the test a little late, you should select all the schools you want your scores to go to before the test date so as not to delay the process any further.
I also took the DAT the first week in November. It took about a week or 2 for schools to get my official scores mailed to them. However, I suggest calling all the schools right after your DAT and asking if they'd like a faxed copy of your unofficial score report while they wait for the official. Some schools will tell you they won't accept that, and others will tell you send it right over.

Ok, good idea. Thanks for your input! So you took the DAT in November and you got into Dental School, that's very encouraging! Do you mind me asking what your stats were? 😳
