I was just wanting some clarification from you guys who have already applied or have applied in years past. They way I read the instructions on the AADSAS website is that if you mail the letters and transcripts yourself to AADSAS, the transcripts do not have to have a matching form in each envelope.

To better clarifymy question, I will send my 3 LOR's, each with a matching form, and my transcripts, 4 of them, will all be in the same envelope but not have a matching form in the envelope with each transcript. Is this going to be a problem?

Like I said the way I read the instructions on the AADSAS website it says that you need a matching form in each transcript envelope if the school is sending the transcripts to AADSAS. Since they will all be sent together I was thinking it would be alright if they did not have them in the envelope.

Thanks

I think to be safe and make sure all the documents will be correct be identify with your file when it reaches AADSAS you should put one LOR and one transcripts matching form in your envelope. Write down all the LORs and transcripts that you have on respective forms because AADSAS usually are not very reliable and it is common for them to misplace or even loose them. Also, call them about 3 weeks after you have sent the documents to make sure they have received everything!

Sounds good, and thank you for the input.

I had also thought about folding and taping a matching form to each transcript envelope, since they do not have one inside. Just in the event that they open the main envelope that they will be sent in and the transcript envelopes get seperated somehow. I guess it's better to be safe than have to re-submit material later. Again thanks for the input.

Yes, it is before to err on the side of caution. I personally had a similar experience with AADSAS about them missing some of my documents. So it is good to call them to check if everything is there. I should also suggest you to call or e-mail the dental schools too (when they receive your application)to make sure AADSAS have forward everything also.

Good Luck

I have the exact same situation. I read the instruction booklet and it made it sound like if you were sending your transcripts yourself you don't need the transcript matching form. This must only apply if you are sending the paper application.

So now I have sealed official transcripts from 5 different schools and no 'Transcript Matching Form'. Should I go back to all of the schools and get another official transcript with the form enclosed or just have them fill the form out and attach it to my sealed envelop? I tried to call AADSAS today but its constantly busy.

I personally had the forms enclosed with the transcript. If you really wanted to make sure nothing was going to get lost at AADSAS, I'd get a bigger envelope, put the matching form and its respective transcript in there, and seal it. I'd to it for all of the trancripts you have so that each transcript is packaged with its own matching form. Then I'd send the batch out. This way, they can't claim that they were confused and that you didn't follow the instructions.

Good advice. That's exactly what AADSAS said to do. Thanks!

My question is that some schools request secondary applications including transcript and etc... **after** reviewing AADSAS application.

If I send everything (transcript, LOR) to AADSAS now, will those schools get these materials? (even before they ask me for LOR/transcript)

how does this work?

AADSAS says to not send transcripts before June 1st. Do you think it would be o.k. to put them in the mail on Friday May 28. I was just thinking with the holiday there is no way they would be there before June 1st. I am hoping to have my transcripts/LOR included with the first mailing. I submitted my application on May 18th.

Where did you get that info?

From their site - NOTE: AADSAS begins accepting transcripts for the 2005 cycle, starting May 1, 2004.

Does anyone know know strict the schools are on their LOR requirements? The schools I am applying to each have differing requirement, for example, one school wants letters from 2 science professors and one liberal arts and another school wants 1 character and 1 science and another wants 1 science and 1 dentist. If I send my letters through AADSAS how is all of that sorted out?

I got it from the instruction page, if you look in the section titled "submitting your official transcripts to AADSAS" you will find a section that says "Please do not request that a transcript be sent to AADSAS before June 1."

I would go with what it says on the site as that is more current information and send them now.

I used to be premed, so my letters must say "medical school" in them somewhere i think, but i cant be sure since they are confidential. How should I go about getting them changed? Ask the profs?? seems silly for one word
