Hello,

when I registered to take the DAT, I checked off all the schools because I wasn't sure which ones I would apply to yet.

When I send out my application, does that mean I have to send it to all of the schools that I chose? (just want to make sure!)

And also, will dental schools know how many schools you apply to or send your scores to?

Thanks <3

ADEA will send your scores to whichever school you chose (or check-marked) when you registered for the DAT. For schools that you didn't choose at the time of your registration, you can fax a copy of your scores directly to schools. And I believe school would know how many schools you've applied to. I might be wrong but I think I've heard they do.

Oh I thought they charged for sending your scores? You can just fax them? Not that I have to worry since I sent my scores to every school just in case....

My understanding is each school will see what schools you you applied to from your AADSAS application. I believe that info is visible to all.

I do not think you need to pay extra for schools that you did not select while registering for DAT school. For example, if I didn't choose Stony Brook when I registered for my DAT, but I decide to apply to that school and select that in the AADSAS application, I believe that Stony Brook will still get your scores from ADA. This is because AADAS directly forwards the official scores to the schools you designated on the application. So, you do not need to pay the extra $25 or whatever to release scores.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong

I'm not 100% sure, but I think ADA sends the scores to AADSAS and some schools will accept the scores thru AADSAS. However, some schools want the official score report direct from ADA. I would contact your specific schools to confirm.
