Sending Transcripts

Has anyone tried sending their transcripts to AADSAS before the application opens? I hear there is a long processing time with these things, and was wondering if it makes any difference in sending it when the application is open, complete, or hasn't even opened yet.

For instance, would it be dumb or smart to send them my transcripts now? Or should I wait until the application is open, and I start filling out the application?

You need a transcript form from AADSAS. I filled two out and gave them to my school to send off into the wild. They got there within a week. I believe AADSAS center is located in MA. I wouldn't send anything until the day it opens. Not sure if you're even allowed to get the transcript form before then.

Well, do I really? need the transcript form from AADSAS? When ordering transcripts from my school, there is an option to send directly to where ever you want it to go, and there is an option to send it directly to AADSAS in MA. So if they have the ability to send it there without any specific form from me, does that still mean I need that transcript form from AADSAS?

Last year they said that not including the form delays the application *shrug. The form also includes your ID number, ect.

You need a transcript request/matching form that can be downloaded in the application. They need to change the year on the form so you might not be able to get it until the cycle starts.
When I filled out the form and brought it to the school registrar, they said it would take 15 days max to send out via regular mail but I bet they did it faster than that.

Yeah like other people have said, the transcript has to be sent to AADSAS with the matching form attached. The matching form has a bar code on in that links to your AADSAS application, so the form can't be generated until you create your application account. I wouldn't risk trying to send it early, not following the directions can only delay your application. As long as you submit your application early in the cycle you shouldn't run into the backlog of processing.

Yeah, just wait, you have more than enough time to still make the 1st batch (if that is what you are aiming for), it doesn't take THAT long to process.

How does the request-transcript process work in general if you upload it electronically vs. mailing it out? How does the matching form work with requesting transcripts from the school? My advisor told me to simply request the transcript from our school's portal and I figured I'd be able to figure out what to do from there. But I guess I'm just confused about the whole process of requesting the transcript. Thanks in advance, guys 🙂

You enter the schools you have attended and it spits out a PDF transcript matching form. You can either print out the matching form or email it to the department that handles transcripts and tell them to include it in the envelope with your transcript. The matching form includes a barcode/AADSAS id number and other information which is supposed to expedite the process. Otherwise, AADSAS states that not including the matching form will delay processing but it will be matched eventually.

You still need the matching form. It has all your info on it and must be sent with the transcripts.

I forgot give the form to the school I am currently attending. Oops.

Somehow I managed to get them to my two other schools, one of which being in Hawaii.
