Senior Design-BME/Pre-med

Hey guys, I'm a biomedical engineer going into my last year and we have senior design project starting in the fall. I'd like to start thinking about what useful device my group can make. As I brainstorm, I thought I might ask the SDN for some input since I know a lot of you are already in med school or residency. So my question is:

Have you seen anything in your clinical experience that would require a medical device not available yet?

If so, what kind of functions would you want the device to have and how much is reasonable?

I'm a former BME gone med student who also did a senior project and I'm super excited for you, I remember doing my project and having tons of fun. Question for you: are you looking to do something along the lines of a tangible product or are you thinking about doing some kind of process such as a new test for something? Do you have any particular interests already?

Awesome, finally someone who has done it! Um...I don't really have much of a preference as of now. I have a medical device in progress but unfortunately it can't be used as a senior design project since I can't bring three more people into the project. So I'm trying to think of something else that can be started anew for my group of four. A tangible product would be nice but it's not required. I really just want to design something that will be useful. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to have a patent just to alleviate the debt from med school...haha
