Would it look bad to adcoms if I only took one upper-level bio course next semester, and filled the rest of my credits with 100 and 200 level electives? I figure it will probably be more beneficial to spend my time prepping for interviews and will most likely have to miss classes and don't want my GPA to drop. What do you guys think?

the adcom dean i talked to last winter about this issue said they dont want to see you slack up. if you are done with your sciences, take an upper level history, psych, or sociology class. i was lucky enough to only need 6 hours, but i had scholarships to cover me for full time (12 hrs+) so i took anatomy, abnormal psych, US military history, and social dance as electives. you wont be spending a ton of time prepping for interviews anyway.

not saying you wont get interviews... just that the prep time isn't really that much

I only need 2 upper level sciences so I was planning on splitting them into 1 in the fall and 1 in the spring. For the Fall, I was going to take a 200 level psych (developmental), upper level bio, 300 level elective, and 2 100 level electives (foundations of health, and intro to music) for 15 credits. Do you think this would be okay, or do I need to swap the 100 levels for something else?

you aren't a freshman anymore... you can handle a few big kid classes. switch the 100s

Wow, I disagree. I was in one upper div bio (molecular bio) and three humanities classes, and I had a tough semester. It just depends on how many interviews you get, but it can get really hard to keep up, especially if you need to travel for most/all of your interviews like I did. OP, I wouldn't worry about it, as long as you're still taking a reasonably full schedule and you are taking some serious classes (which you are, with an upper div bio, devo psych, and an upper div elective).

For my senior fall semester, I took 1 upper level neuro course for my major and then a bunch of intro-level music courses for my music minor. Same for this semester, except I have 2 neuro courses. I am very glad I did that, because I missed a lot of class for traveling to interviews. My grade in my neuro class was definitely not as high as it could have been, and if I had taken multiple science courses, it would have been worse. I'd say you're fine!

ALL of my interviews will be out of state. Thanks for the advice!
