I have a few questions regarding grades during senior year.

1) Do schools request a copy of your fall grades? I am wondering both about the cases where an acceptance is offered before the end of the fall semester and also when a non rolling school will not release decisions until spring.

2) In the case where you already have an acceptance in hand, do schools care how your grades are senior year? Do they ever rescind an acceptance?

I ask because I am taking a set of very hard engineering courses that I need to finish my degree and will be (thankfully) traveling a lot during the fall semester for interviews. I don't plan to slack but I can easily foresee a course or two that could slip into the B/C range based on how much class I will miss. I am pretty worried about succeeding in my courses while also traveling to 10+ interviews. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Each interview will make you lose out on what, 2 days of school? Just get a friend to scan you their notes for missed classes. Read them while flying to one of your 10+ interviews. Bring a textbook if you have to do questions from it. I highly doubt your courses will slip a grade or two doing this.

Schools will usually not request a copy of fall grades. B/C range in a couple classes is fine, it's only if you drop to a straight C or below average that you might get into trouble. The only concern would be if you potentially have to reapply, but since you have a number of interviews already, that probably won't be an issue. Just don't bomb your interviews 😉

You may find that your professors will cut you some slack as well if you talk to them in advance.

^This. Even the meanest, hardest-nosed professor tends to accept that medical school interviews are important and will respond accordingly.

Thanks for the input everyone. I appreciate it.
