I'm in my last semester of my last year of undergrad, all my prereqs are done, and I'm holding onto an acceptance from my dream school where the only condition is to graduate. I even specifically asked the school and they told me it's not necessary to keep my GPA above a certain level, which surprised me, but hey less pressure so I'm not complaining.

Problem is, now I'm taking courses that I literally just need to pass and I'd still be fine, and I'm finding it really difficult to stay focused when studying... it's not even that late in the semester!? Feels a bit bizarre since I'm usually super on top of things when it comes to school, but for the past few weeks I've just been like "blah". It's really not good lol. Does anyone have any advice for getting motivated again??

I have no advice, just sympathy too because I'm in the same boat. Except I'm finishing my last two prereqs, so I have to have at least a C- in each (physics and biochem). I found out today I got a 31% on my last physics test and I don't even care. Short version is that it doesn't hurt my grade too bad anyway, but last term I would have been super upset and this term, not at all. The difference an acceptance makes, I guess. If anyone does have advice, I'd appreciate it too.

My advice is to just slog through it until you're done. 😛 Got my first acceptance in December so I didn't try at all for my entire spring semester and it was interesting, to say the least. You can do it, you just have to be willing to sit yourself down and say "No, you have to work right now."

As hard as that is.

I'm in the same position. What helps me is having a to-do list for school each day. I write down in my planner what I have to do for each class throughout the week in order to keep a good grade. I just make sure I get those tasks done with before I get lazy for the rest of the day/week. It may sound a little stupid but it helps me to visualize the minimum amount of schoolwork I need to be doing. 🙂

I'm in a similar but different situation. I have a physics course and history course I am currently taking. I was rejected yesterday to my only school. Being motivated to do well in these courses right now is quite difficult.

Just think of it as getting A's in those classes is helping to make you a shoe-in for next cycle...I'm so sorry you got rejected but I'm sure if you do a file review, you'll be able to make the small changes needed to be a 2022-er!

Maybe it's because I'm still waiting to hear from my top-choice, but I'm not feeling the senioritis at this point. I'm excited to enjoy the rest of my senior year, relax this summer, and then start the next chapter. Getting accepted has DEFINITELY taken a huge weight off and I think maybe I'm just thankful for less stress (at least for a little while lol).🙂

I'm taking an online physiology course, required by the school I have been accepted to. I HATE online courses, so this is doubly hard. Five or more hours a week of just staring at a screen is so damn boring. I took my first test without really studying and did ok, I'm like we'll that's good enough. I'm behind in the course too, ugh.

I'm not even accepted yet and I'm struggling lol. The school is requiring you to graduate? I thought most schools just needed passing grades in pre reqs, not a diploma.

What exactly is a file review and how does one get one?

Not all schools do them but most seem to...some schools won't do them until after the acceptance deadline (April 15th), but contact the school and ask! They'll go over your application with you and tell you areas they think you should work on. I know a lot of people on SDN who have been helped a lot by them...especially because all schools emphasize some things more than others.

I've already finished all their prerequisite requirements and gotten grades for them; if I hadn't, I'm sure that would've been part of the condition as well. Also it isn't an American school, if that matters.

Yep! I'm feeling that way too. I was a straight A student and I'm probably going to get at least 1 D this semester..... I can't focus

I like this idea! I'm already sort of doing it, but I think I'll expand. Hopefully knowing the minimum will help keep me focused enough to get through this. And the fear of having to retake a class...

Same boat. I have one class I care about and another where the instructor is making it really hard to care. Quizzes are online, but we get 10 retakes. The tests are open book/notes with laptops allowed. How can anyone take that seriously?
I don't know how you'd take it seriously, but at least if you can't take it seriously, it's easy. I'd love something like for my physics class. I have to remind myself every day that if I stab the teacher with a pencil they will probably take away my acceptance.
